Deleting a user from the system when they have tasks assigned to them

How to Delete Users with Assigned Actions

Before you can delete a user, all tasks assigned to them must be completed or reassigned. If you attempt to delete a user with active tasks, you will receive an error message.

Follow these steps to manage and clear assigned tasks:

Navigate to Tasks: Go to the Tasks section from the main menu.

Filter by Assignee: Filter the tasks by "Assignee" and select the user you wish to delete. This will display all tasks currently assigned to them.

View Task Details: For each task listed, click the "Details" button to view its specifics

Edit the Task: Click "Edit Task" to modify the task.

Reassign the Task: Reassign the task to another active user and be sure to select the Save button.

Manage Lead Profile Tasks (if applicable): For some task types, clicking "Details" may take you to a lead profile. Scroll down to the "Tasks" section within that lead's profile. Here, you can either:

  1. Delete the task by clicking the trash can icon.

  2. Reassign it by clicking the pencil icon and following the reassignment steps.

If You Can't Find Assigned Tasks: If you are having trouble locating all tasks assigned to the user you want to delete, please contact support with the ID number(s) shown in the error message.

We can then provide you with direct links to the relevant lead profiles where the tasks can be managed. Note: This URL will make you sign into your Admin account again (this is normal).

Complete or Dismiss Tasks: Once you have completed or dismissed all outstanding tasks, you will be able to successfully delete the user.
